MDUSD HOPE Holiday Drive seeks donations for homeless students through December 4th
Posted 11/9/21

The Mt. Diablo Unified School District is committed to making sure that all students arrive at school ready and able to learn. To supplement our services, our Homeless Outreach Program for Education (HOPE)  is requesting donations for our holiday program to support our homeless students by December 4th.

Donations can be made in person or by mail at Mt. Diablo HOPE, 2730 Salvio Street, Room 24, Concord, CA 94519. You can also donate via Venmo @MDUSDHOPE. Monetary donations will fund holiday gift cards.

We are asking for gift cards in the amount of $25 or $50 from the following types of places where kids can make purchases: Target, Walmart, Old Navy, GAP, generic prepaid credit cards, and gift cards to local restaurants. Please make sure the amount is clearly marked, so recipients know how much is available to spend.

If there is cash remaining after gift cards have been provided for every HOPE student, then the money will be used to support HOPE students throughout the year (i.e. food, senior activities/pictures, fines, clothing for interviews, prom, yearbooks, brief emergency shelter, and other needs as they may arise). All donations received will go to our homeless students attending Mt. Diablo Unified School District schools. You can also find this information in the attached flyers in English and Spanish. More information about the HOPE program, which included 280 students as of Oct. 1, is here.
